{"id":30526,"date":"2026-02-23T18:31:12","date_gmt":"2026-02-23T10:31:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cos.ntnu.edu.tw\/?p=30526"},"modified":"2026-02-23T18:31:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-23T10:31:13","slug":"college-of-science-call-for-applications-2026-fall-student-exchange-program-at-kyushu-university-kyu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cos.ntnu.edu.tw\/index.php\/en\/2026\/02\/23\/college-of-science-call-for-applications-2026-fall-student-exchange-program-at-kyushu-university-kyu\/","title":{"rendered":"[College of Science] Call for Applications: 2026 Fall Student Exchange Program at Kyushu University (KYU)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The College of Science at NTNU is inviting applications for the <strong>Fall 2026 Student Exchange Program<\/strong> at the Schools of Science, Kyushu University (KYU), Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Internal Selection Timeline<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> 17:00, Monday, March 16, 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Result Announcement:<\/strong> Late March 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Final Nomination to KYU:<\/strong> Early May 2026 (KYU official deadline: May 15, 2026).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility and Quota<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Target Applicants:<\/strong> Undergraduate (must have completed at least one year of study at NTNU), Master\u2019s, and Doctoral students within the College of Science.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Exchange Quota:<\/strong> A total of <strong>4 units<\/strong> are available for this academic year.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One academic year (two semesters) = 2 units.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One semester = 1 unit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Language Proficiency (TOEIC is NOT accepted):<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>For Japanese-taught courses:<\/strong> JLPT <strong>N1<\/strong> certificate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For English-taught courses:<\/strong> <strong>TOEFL iBT 79<\/strong> or <strong>IELTS 6.0<\/strong> (or above).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stage 1: Required Documents for Internal Selection<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants must consolidate the following documents into a <strong>single PDF file<\/strong> (Filename: <em>Student ID_Department_Name<\/em>) and email it to <strong>Mr. Chen (ptm105_9467@ntnu.edu.tw)<\/strong> by <strong>17:00, March 16, 2026<\/strong>. Late submissions will not be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Application Letter:<\/strong> * <strong>Format:<\/strong> Must be written in <strong>English<\/strong>, limited to <strong>one A4 page<\/strong>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Content:<\/strong> Include self-introduction, motivation, study plan, and <strong>clearly state the intended exchange duration (One Semester or One Year)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Official Academic Transcript:<\/strong> Chinese version is acceptable for the internal selection stage. (The English version will be required for the final nomination).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Proof of Language Proficiency:<\/strong> (Copy of JLPT N1 or TOEFL iBT 79\/IELTS 6.0 scores).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stage 2: Formal Documents for Nominated Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Nominated students must prepare the following official documents by late April for submission to KYU:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>KYU Official Application Form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>English Enrollment Certificate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Official English Academic Transcript.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Letter of Recommendation from an academic advisor (must include a signature).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Photocopy of Passport.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Original Language Proficiency Certificate\/Official Score Report.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Acceptance Letter from a prospective KYU supervisor<\/strong> (Required for <strong>&#8220;Special Research Students&#8221;<\/strong> only).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important Notice (Please Read Carefully)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Exchange Duration:<\/strong> You <strong>must<\/strong> specify your intended duration in the application letter. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Language Policy:<\/strong> <strong>TOEIC scores are NOT recognized<\/strong> for this program. Only TOEFL iBT or IELTS is accepted for the English track.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nomination vs. Admission:<\/strong> Selection by the College only grants &#8220;Nominated&#8221; status. The final admission decision is solely determined by Kyushu University.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Student Responsibility:<\/strong> Nominated students are responsible for preparing all formal materials in April. The College is not liable for any rejection due to late or incomplete documentation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Financials &amp; Insurance:<\/strong> Tuition, application, and matriculation fees at KYU are waived. However, students must cover their own living expenses, airfare, and visa fees. Students <strong>must<\/strong> purchase the <strong>Japanese National Health Insurance<\/strong> and <strong>PAS insurance<\/strong>. Please evaluate your financial situation carefully before applying to avoid withdrawing later and depriving others of the opportunity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image
