The Unmissable Blue and White Porcelain – OIA Cultural Exchange Program

  • Post author:

Office of International Affairs will host a cultural exchange program featuring courses on coffee, dyeing, clothing and makeup, and blue-and-white porcelain, aimed at introducing Taiwanese culture and fostering student interactions. One highlight is the course “The Unmissable Blue and White Porcelain,” exploring its 400-year influence on ceramic art. Historically, porcelain was monopolized by China until the 18th century, with patterns often reinterpreted in other cultures. In Taiwan, pottery began in Tainan in the mid-17th century and developed further in Yingge by the 19th century. Ceramic artist Mr. Zeng Xiangxuan will guide participants in creating unique Taiwanese blue-and-white porcelain.
