PROFESSOR FAN CHUANPO LECTURE | What is quantum geometry?

  • Post author:

✏️ Lecture abstract: The development of geometry, spanning from classical to algebraic geometry, has taken place over thousands of years. By the end of the 20th century, with the intersection of mathematics and physics, quantum geometry emerged, integrating these theories. Speaker Academician Chin-Lung Wang will use classic examples to introduce the evolution and principles of quantum geometry in an accessible way, hoping to inspire young scholars to venture into this field full of unknowns and challenges.

⏲️ Lecture Time: 2024/12/04 13:30 ~ 15:30

🏫 Lecture Venue: NTNU Gongguan Campus S101

👨‍🏫 Speaker: Academician Chin-Lung Wang
Currently serving in the Department of Mathematics at National Taiwan University, he earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Harvard University in 1998 under the guidance of Prof. Shing-Tung Yau. Upon returning to Taiwan, he taught at National Tsing Hua University and National Central University before rejoining NTU in 2008. Prof. Wang has made significant contributions to the field of algebraic geometry, focusing particularly on Calabi-Yau manifolds, quantum geometry, and related applications, and has introduced numerous pioneering theories.
