【Announcement】2026 International Internship Pilot Program (IIPP) for Foreign Talents

The “2026 International Internship Pilot Program (IIPP),” organized by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and the National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs), is now open for applications.

We encourage our faculty members to open internship positions and invite international students to apply.

1. Program Highlights & Subsidies

  • For Interns (Students): A tax-free allowance of NTD 1,000 per day for the duration of the internship (28–90 days).
  • For Hosts (Principal Investigators): An advising fee of NTD 10,000 per intern.
    • Note: In principle, a PI may supervise one intern. Up to two interns may be permitted if nationality diversity requirements are met.

2. Eligibility

  • Principal Investigators (PIs): Faculty members who have served as PIs or Co-PIs of research projects funded by government agencies or universities within the past three years.
  • Interns: Foreign students currently enrolled in overseas universities (undergraduate or graduate).
    • Note: Students from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau are excluded.

3. Application Timeline

The application deadlines depend on the internship start month. Please complete the application (including matchmaking) by the following dates:

Internships must conclude by February 2027.

4. How to Apply

  • Step 1: Visit the IIPP Website (https://iipp.stpi.niar.org.tw/).
  • Step 2:
    • Faculty (PIs): Register an account and post internship vacancies.
    • Students: Register an account, fill in your profile, and apply for vacancies.
  • Step 3: Complete the matchmaking process online before the deadline.
