1. What is EMI ❓

Due to the national 2030 bilingual policy, this program aims to enhance tertiary education students’ professional knowledge and language skills, enabling them to better collaborate and communicate internationally. By strengthening students’ English proficiency and offering English-medium instruction (EMI) courses, the program aims to comprehensively improve the international competitiveness of higher education.

2. Purpose of English Tests 🌏

  • Meeting Major Requirements: Due to amendments to the university’s regulations, the school currently excludes foreign language proficiency as a graduation requirement for certain majors, while some departments maintain their original requirements. Detailed information on specific department requirements and exemption regulations can be found on the respective departmental web pages.
  • Exchange Programs and Study Abroad: Besides maintaining excellent academic performance, passing an English proficiency test is also one of the essential requirements for applying to exchange programs. Please check the table below to get more information.
  • Future Job Requirements: In the future, passing an English proficiency test may also be required by national enterprises, foreign companies, or even for studying abroad. Having such certificates can enhance your resume.

⬆️ The table above lists the average minimum English proficiency scores required for applying to the school’s exchange programs with partner universities abroad.  The data is for reference only. For detailed exchange conditions, please refer to the annual selection guidelines for exchange students provided by Office of International Affairs ( OIA ).
