The Taiwan-UK Alliance is offering scholarships for students of our university to study at the University of Liverpool or Newcastle University in the UK for one semester in the fall of 2025. Priority will be given to students studying in the fields of bilingual education, net-zero emissions, and green energy development.
Scholarship Details:
- Newcastle University: 3 main slots, 2 backup slots
- University of Liverpool: 4 main slots, 2 backup slots
- Each scholarship recipient will receive NT$60,000 at least.
Eligibility:
- Must be a current bachelor’s or master’s student (excluding MBA programs) of Taiwanese nationality.
- Priority given to students in bilingual education, net-zero emissions, and green energy, and those who have not previously participated in an overseas exchange.
- GPA of 3.22 or higher.
- Language requirements:
- Newcastle University: IELTS 6.5+ or TOEFL iBT 90+
- University of Liverpool: IELTS 6.0+ (bachelor’s), 6.5+(Master’s) or TOEFL iBT 88+. If no English test score available, a CEFR B2 language proficiency letter from a university teacher can be considered.
Obligations:
- Scholarship recipients must participate in a Taiwan-UK Alliance results presentation and provide a 20-minute English presentation, as well as submit a 5,000-word (in Chinese) written report.
- Students must complete at least two courses or six credits per semester with passing grades.
- Failure to fulfill these obligations will result in the cancellation of the scholarship and must return the received funds.
Application Timeline:
- Online Application: February 27th – March 16th, 2025
- Document Review: March 17th – March 21st, 2025
- Announcement of Results: March 21st, 2025, 5:00 PM
Application Process:
- Complete the online application form and upload required documents by March 16th, 2025, 23:59 using the following link: https://forms.gle/uftLiRYAXsuQ1t2e7 (This application form requires a Google account to access).
- Required documents include:
- University enrollment certificate
- Personal statement and study plan
- Academic transcripts
- Ranking certificate (bachelor’s students)
- English proficiency test scores
- Other supporting documents.
- Combine documents into specified files and upload them to the google application form.

- Academic performance (30%)
- Personal statement and study plan (20%)
- Achievements and activity records (20%)
Important Notes:
- Submit all documents by the deadline.
- Successful applicants must respond with nomination information by April 15th, 2025.
- Successful nominees must complete all partner university application process by May 1st, 2025.
- Final acceptance is subject to the partner university’s approval.
