Currently, College of Science and its affiliated departments/graduate institutes have built partnership with more than 30 higher education institutions around the world. The cooperative types range from MOUs to more active programs such as Student Exchange (SEA) and Dual Degrees Program (DDP).

Asia

※ The School of Ecology and Evolution was established in May 2014 as a sub-school of the former College of Life Sciences. In November 2015, SYSU reinstated School of Life Sciences, resulting in the dissolution of School of Ecology and Evolution under its administration.

China - Sun Yat-Sen University

School of Ecology and Evolution

Sun Yat-sen University (Chinese: 中山大学, abbreviated as SYSU) is a comprehensive research university located in Guangzhou, Zhuhai, and Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. It is one of China’s top universities, with strong academic disciplines, particularly in the humanities, social sciences, medicine, and natural sciences. In the 2024 World University Rankings, Sun Yat-sen University is ranked 7th in China and 72nd globally.

The university has three campuses and five campuses in total, located in Guangzhou, Zhuhai, and Shenzhen. In addition, Sun Yat-sen University operates ten directly affiliated hospitals.

China - Beijing Normal University

School of Life Sciences

Beijing Normal University (Chinese: 北京师范大学, abbreviated as BNU), established in 1902 and originally the Normal School of the Imperial University of Peking, is China’s first normal university. It was renamed in 1923.

BNU offers 12 academic disciplines, excelling in education, psychology, and Chinese language and literature. In the 2025 QS World University Rankings, it ranks 271st globally and 12th in China.
The university has two campuses: in Beijing (including Haidian, Xicheng, Changping, and Yurong) and in Zhuhai, and collaborates with Hong Kong Baptist University.

Indonesia - Surabaya State University

Yokohama City University (Japanese: 横浜市立大学, abbreviated as YCU), established in 1949, is a public university located in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. Philippines - Cebu Normal University

Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City University of Education

Ho Chi Minh City University of Education (Vietnamese: Trường Đại học Sư phạm Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh) was established in 1976, formerly known as Saigon University of Education. In 1995, it joined Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, but became independent in 1999 as a key pedagogical university in southern Vietnam. It is one of the country’s 22 national key universities and plays a vital role in teacher training.

As of 2022, the university has 22 faculties, 14 centers, an Institute of Educational Research, and an affiliated high school. It offers 41 undergraduate, 26 master’s, and 10 doctoral programs. With 789 staff, including 3 professors and 29 associate professors, the university was reaccredited in 2024.

Hanoi Capital University (Vietnamese: Trường Đại học Thủ đô Hà Nội) was established by upgrading the Hanoi Pedagogical College, aiming to become a multidisciplinary, high-quality, modern university and play a leading role in educational reform. The university is located in Hanoi’s Dong Anh district, covering an area of over 40 hectares. Czech Republic - Charles University

Charles University (Czech: Univerzita Karlova) was founded in 1348 by Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia, Charles IV. It is the oldest and largest university in Central Europe and is highly regarded for its academic excellence and research. Germany - University of Cologne

The University of Cologne (German: Universität zu Köln), founded in 1388, is one of Germany’s oldest and most prestigious universities. Located in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, it was dissolved in 1798 under French rule but re-established in 1919. Since then, it has grown into one of Germany’s largest academic institutions.

The university has six faculties: Arts and Humanities, Law, Medicine, Management and Economics, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and Human Sciences. Established in 1952, the University of Guam (UOG) is a public land-grant university located in Mangilao, Guam. UOG offers 34 bachelor’s degree programs and 11 master’s degree programs across a wide range of fields, including business, education, public health, natural sciences, and humanities. With a student population of about 3,904, nearly 94% of the students are of Asian-Pacific Islander descent, and approximately 72% are full-time students.

UOG is also recognized for its research in areas such as tropical environments, marine sciences, and social and cultural studies in the Pacific region.
